Why do people still put up with this shit? It's obviously a broken platform and every new hip tech that is adding to it is making it worse. It's basically a big pile of bullcrap that we are adding more crap to it instead of just scraping and do it the proper way. Lets recap - today we have, just to name a few, HTML, Javascript, CSS, PHP, Ruby, MySQL (along with more SQL databases), different flavours of NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc), NodeJs, XML, JSON, WebSockets, Java, Flash, Silverlight, not to mention the countless "frameworks" _JUST_ to develop a fucking interface, a page that 90% of the cases will never be seen by anyone and if it's finally seen it will MOST CERTAINLY NOT LOOK THE WAY THE DEVELOPER INTENDED IT TO LOOK. And just let us develop ANOTHER browser JUST to make things even more fucked up.
It's shit, it's broken, everybody know it's broken but somehow new technologies are being developed on top of this ridiculousness and everyone is excited.
I feel like I'm alone in my struggle against this broken environment and I don't see it changed any time soon but I'll still rant on it. We clearly, _CLEARLY_ have the worst platform ever built by a man and it's called "The Web". We desperately need to change it, to purge this and develop it as a sane foundation.
And don't even get me started on the "UNIX philosophy" where individual items when combined is the most elegant and flexible environment. The web is nothing like this. It's shit, I know it's shit and _you_ know it's shit.
Suggestions on how to rewrite it. My proposal - use what we already developed 30 fucking years ago - X Window.
My friend has these speaks and I can't find any info at all on them. The brand is bensens and apparently he bought them off some strange guy for around $300 and aparantly the box said something about them being $5000 but either way I can't find a thing on them. I'll post pics and any help will be appreciated.
So you know how a lot of people on Facebook only have their profile picture visible? And when you can't even click on it to make it bigger?
So before, there was an easy way to make pictures that are only visible as thumbnails to people who you bigger. You just looked at the url and changed the 200x200 bit.
Recently, Facebook changed that. If you try that now, you get the error: "An error occurred while processing your request. Reference #50.361c434d.1417475502.77e94c3"
