>>47889509>Msi afterburner. I'm not joking. Free and awesome. Customizable watermark and configurable hotkeys.MSI afterburner seems to be like VLC in the sense that it was designed for 1 thing but has other features like recording in it. I don't really want a watermark as I wouldn't put pictures on here and give them a watermark so I wouldn't do it elsewhere. Maybe an extremely subtle watermark. Most have hotkeys but those are nice I guess.
MSI Afterburber + RivaTuner Statisitics Server kind of has the same problems as camstudio and aviscreen in the sense that it doesn't have a ready-to-go codec or "video format" and the default of "mjpg compression" isn't too good.
In addition to that there doesn't seem to be an option to capture a speicfic region on your desktop or the ability to pause a recording.
The only formats available are AVI and strangely an MKV option which I haven't seen in these programs before.
There's no bitrate options and even when you lower the quality to 25% it makes the video bitrate 7530 kbps and audio 1411 kbps for a total bitrate of 8941 kbps. A 14 second video is 16155 KB.
To record you also need to "hook" it to a videogame or something or again have it record your full desktop instead of a region.
Another huge problem is that you're running something it recognizes as "active 3d process" or another recorder then it won't record. This includes OBS but also "soffice.bin" which is libre office. So it can be used while other programs are open. Reminds me of the so-called "anti-cheat protection" epidemic that is plaguing internet videogames.
So I can't use it because I need region capture, small file size options in kbps, and ideally mp4 recording with a pause feature.
But if you want to use MSI Afterburner then that's fine. But I don't know why.
