I have been fixing and building computers for more than 6 years now and I'm building my first AMD PC in YEARS (I had an Athlon XP system back in the day).
I was thinking on getting an FX-4300 and just wanted to know what the lowest speed memory it supports. I'm trying to get a mid-range gaming system set up (my current PC has a 1st gen Core 2 Duo E6750).
I'm just confused as to what the lowest it would support as it's fairly easy to tell with intel CPU's. HyperTransport is kinda confusing me.
I would just need to get some memory, mobo, and a case; I can reuse my HD 6770, DVD drive and HDD.
What I'm thinking on getting is:
GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3P
FX-4300
8GB DDR3
*Some random case I haven't decided on
