Falcon must be making a big buck out of that logicalincrements website

isn't it about time he gave something back to us? like free passes for a 50 people or so? because all the stuff on LI was composed by people here and all falcon did was were fast to take credit for it and commercialize it

I don't have that falcon guy on a much higher bar than those guys from knowyourmeme et cetera; stealing content from others and rebranding it without proper attribution

What does /g/ think of #! as a distro for a beginner? Any driver issues that I need to be aware of?

I am not too big on ricing, just want a clean and lightweight OS for my laptop.

Why should we encourage the masses to move to Linux? Do you realize all the malware writers would soon target Linux and therefore it would just end up like Windows? So from now on just say install Mac.

1400000000 Unix Time Thread

No.41901597 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
1 400 000 000 Unix time is in a little over an hour. Are you hyped? How has technology improved your life in the last 1157 days?

>What's Unix Time?
Unix time is the number of seconds since midnight, January 1 1970 UTC. It's used in Unix and Unix-like environments to keep track of time, and is even present in some Windows applications.

>Where have I seen Unix time used?
The filenames here on 4chan are the current Unix timestamp with milliseconds added.

>When's the rollover?
16:53:20 UTC today, which is 12:53:20 EST and 09:53:20 PST

>How often do these rollovers happen?
Once every 100 000 000 seconds! In more readable terms, here are the dates of the last few rollovers:

1 000 000 000: 1:46:40 am UTC | Sunday, September 9, 2001
1 100 000 000: 11:33:20 am UTC | Tuesday, November 9, 2004
1 200 000 000: 9:20:00 pm UTC | Thursday, January 10, 2008
1 300 000 000: 7:06:40 am UTC | Sunday, March 13, 2011

This means a rollover happens once every 1157 days, or 38.05 months.
