NSA Appreciation Thread

No.41142108 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
The NSA isn't watching you. Dragnet surveillance doesn't mean someone is actually ever going to look through your shit. You guys gotta chill out.
A lot of people on /g/ are in IT, right? Then surely you of all people would understand how the NSA must feel. If you're a sysadmin and keep everything working, people won't really appreciate you because they forget that bad things can happen.
If the NSA stopped doing what it's doing, we'd see a second 9/11. But there never will be one because the NSA isn't going to disappear.
It's easy to be fooled by the media into thinking that surveillance is bad, but is it really? Surveillance isn't bad, your irrational paranoia is. Nothing yet has happened to you, and nothing will happen to you unless you're a serious terrorist.
The NSA doesn't go after small fries. If you J-walk or post about smoking weed, who cares? Surely not the NSA.
It would be a complete waste of resources to go after each and every minor offender. That's up to local law enforcement, not the NSA.
Little incidents like the Boston bombing occurred and people are using that as an example of the NSA's apparent incompetence, but that was small in the grand scheme of things and the NSA stops much worse things from happening.
We all deserve to live in a terrorism-free America. You are delusional if you think your minor infractions are worth the NSA's time and money. Don't kid yourself, you're a nobody.
When was the last time you worried about terrorism? It's been a while, thanks to the hard work at the NSA. It's easy to put them down, but I think our hardworking friends in the NSA deserve some appreciation. They have probably saved your life at some point or another.
