hey /g/ i need your help... i tried to update my os (opensuse) and update required reboot. after restart this came up (pic related)... im using dual boot win8 and opensuse. what to do?

So I want to move away from babby's first bit torrent client. I've been using pic related since 1.x and the crashing and ads piss me off now. Can we have a discussion on the different strengths of the alternatives. Oh and it needs to be on the approved list of most private trackers.

Sold a laptop a few months back with a pirated windows 7 and office 2013 on it.

When did you finally truly realize that /g/ is being infiltrated by advertisers and shills who post here for shekels? When did you notice that there are constant attempts to derail any important privacy and security threads here, and spread misinformation in them? When did you generally start feeling that something wasn't quite right anymore?

I felt a change happening in mid-2013. Shilling started to become more and more obvious. I've also noticed what I thought at that time was simply trolling - the whole "nothing to hide" movement.

Rewind to 2014, and holy fuck!! What the hell has happened? You can now very easily spot pay-per-post Merchants here daily, and "nothing to hide" agents are in every thread, even it is very loosely related to private, etc.

Is /g/ a lost cause at this point? How do you sort through this shit whenever you visit? Are you ignoring it, or are you reporting it? I feel like it's getting pretty close to the end, where /g/ will be nothing but a cesspool of utter uselessness.
