Hey /g/ ausfag here my new build should be getting here today, I have one slight issue I need to deal with I'll be using a Xeon E3 in an Asrock Z77 I've already checked and I dose support it no problem but it requires a bios update, of which I've never done, so my question is;
>TL;DR
Should I hook up my PSU and boot up the mobo, update bios and slap the CPU in?
OR
Hook PSU and slap in the CPU then update it with the CPU in?

Okay, you lot like ThinkPads, right?

Explain:

System76- Gazelle Professional
i7-3630QM
8GB RAM
15.6" 1080p (1920x1080) screen
6-cell battery
Intel HD 4000 gfx

Lenovo- T530
i7-3610QM (note: less powerful than the sys76 machine)
8GB RAM
15.6" 1080p (1920x1080) screen
6-cell battery
Intel HD 4000 gfx

So, extremely similar specs. Prices:

Gazelle Professional: ~$920
T530: ~$1240

Where's the difference here? And don't say Windows tax; OEMs pay very little per-license for windows because Macroshit wants to keep their pre-installed monopoly.

inpu thread

No.42600201 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
>What's inpu?

inpu is the software used by the popular soviet (and russian) Soyuz spacecraft (http://youtu.be/LTflOstC1Ec?t=4m46s). This is the training version for cosmonauts but essentially the same software. This version is from 2002, but newer versions most likely exist and yes, it's also featured in Gravity.

>How to get it running

go to
http://astronaut.ru/bookcase/prog.htm
click on
"программой"
unzip the file and run inpu.exe in dosbox

I use the following command:

dosbox -c "mount c: PathToDirectory" -c "c:" -c "inpu" -c "exit"
(to run it in fullscreen add -fullscreen)

Alternativly it's possible to run it natively on DOS, but you do require a floating point unit.
