> Demonbane's cosmology doesn't suite Z's direction.
Z's topdog entities were dictated not by power, but by spiritual enlightenment. These concepts fall greatly in line with Zen and/or Buddhist teachings, concepts that Demonbane doesn't lend itself to considering the nature of the Outer Gods and how the ultimate essence of existence is already greatly defined in its series.
Like wise, Supreme God Z is written to suite this format as well, being an entity that has surpassed even the inevitable annihilation of Creation. In contrast, you have Nyarlathotep creating multiverses like its nobody's business and so-on. In scale, they are similar, but in purpose and themes, they are night and day.
Time-loop, cyclic death and rebirth of creation in SRWUX say hi. Also, in scale, the Outer Gods and Kali Yuga are similar, but in purpose and themes, they are different.
