A few months ago I /m/ helped me get acquainted with the mecha genre in relation to a project I was helping write. Everything went well and I'd just like to say thanks.
Now I'm on a Gundam kick even though there wasn't a lot on the list of recommendations I received. Just 0079, 0080, and Turn A. I continued on with UC after 0079 and coming off of Zeta I'm a bit fatigued with the timeline. Mind you, I did enjoy it. The tone was somber, yet a lot of the dialogue and character interactions were so damn hilarious. The story just took a lot out of me so I'm trying to get away from UC for now.
Which series should I watch next? I've been told that Zeta is pretty divisive, which is good for me because I'm hoping I haven't seen the best the franchise has to offer yet.

Did this really just fucking happen? This isn't just some coma dream after stabbed with a knife? I mean, obviously this is where they were headed with these two characters. Are the Robotech books worth it? I've seen a few in some used book stores and my curiosity peaked enough for me to get a few. I'm initially cautious about reading a book based off a cartoon, which was a loose dub of three completely unrelated anime series, but damn I'm just so hungry for more Robotech stuff. Has anyone here read them?
