Any of you anons watch Blocker Corps IV Machine Blaster? It's one of the lesser known 70s super robot titles and it tries very hard to rip off both Mazinger series.
Next month we're getting Tetsujin 28 FX fully translated into the English language, making three out of the main four! Lets get a hype thread rolling, post pictures, jokes, opinions, expectations, and the like to get this gravy train rollin'!
When mechs get redesigned for movies/OVAs from their TV counterparts how different would you want them to be? Same body but different look like in Eureka Seven: Pocketful of Rainbows (pic related)? Do you prefer drastic reworks like in Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz? Minimal alterations like in Nadesico: Prince of Darkness? Same with more details like in Mazinger Z Infinity? New color schemes like in the Rebuild of Evangelion movies? A different art style but otherwise the same like Escaflowne: A Girl in Gaea? Outside of Endless Waltz I rarely see much discussion on the topic so why not? Personally I'm more of a middle ground between Infinity and Rebuild, no need for drastic departure, but if you're going to make a movie then some extra care in the visuals would give it a cinematic presentation.
Perfect amount of mecha action, perfect amount of human adventure, perfect amount of military and political shenanigans, perfect amount of meta-human bullshit, perfect opening song, perfect length. How the fuck did they get everything so right in this one-off series and why hasn't it been topped since?
So what did you anons think about Laserion? I finished it a couple days ago and I thought it was really cool. The writing could have been better, it didn't seemed all that planned out, and the MC is an idiot for the first half. I liked the music, the action scenes, the pacing (mostly), the animation, and the rest of the cast was mostly good. Plenty off mecha variety which was interesting. The last five episodes were pretty hype when I saw them, definitely some hotblooded "FUCK YEAH!" as it made its way into the finale. I know there are anons that didn't enjoy it, but I was wondering if anyone else did or at least thought it was decent. It's a nice little hidden treasure from the mid 80s and I'm glad Discotek brought it over. G5 is easily my favorite among the protag robots.

I'm trying to find this old movie for some time now but without success. I watched it as a child around late 90s / early 2000s. I think it just starts by showing a huge airship invading Earth or something. The protagonist later infiltrated the airship maybe to try to stop it. I dont recall hearing voice lines or anything, I dont know if it was because the TV was muted for being late or if the movie simply had no voices. The only vivid memory i have is this movie starting with this big ass airship.
Does anyone have a clue about what movie this could be? Thank you
