I've never watched mecha outside of Eva lol and a little gurren lagan. I fucking loved transformers as a kid so I have a soft spot for giant robots. What would you guys recommend for the first mecha anime for someone to watch?

is there anything like a "Crisis On Infinite Puppets" crossover? some basic digging online I've found a time in the comics when Spectrum apparently faced a monster that Thunderbirds faced, and a suspiciously familiar looking space station in a different comic but I haven't found something like Troy Tempest and Mike Mercury discussing underwater maneuvering techniques
