If the jannies don't mind, I would like to continue my autistic argument with the 0079fag from this deleted thread: https://desuarchive.org/m/thread/18824285/. Hopefully he'll show up.
Giant robots whooping ass is cool as shit, yes, but at the end of the day if a fight isn't about the underlying emotional conflicts between two or more characters and/or the internal conflict of one or more characters. Without emotional investment, a robot fight is just metal banging metal. It lacks the soul that truly makes a fight a fight. It's why for all the technically superior fight choreography in the prequel trilogy, the light saber battles in the original Star Wars trilogy were far more compelling and interesting (except maybe for the confrontatiom between Anakin and Obi-Wan on Mustafar) - they are not as emotionally compelling.
That was why 0079 was so boring to me. I didn't feel any emotional investment in the myriad of Zeon-White Base skirmishes save for the ones in the final 10 episodes or so - you know, when the plot picks up and the show becomes more than a bunch of random fights with a few great powerful moments sprinkled throughout? Meanwhile with Zeta I was consistently engaged throughout.
I found Zeta's fights to be better animated AND better directed. But at the end of the day that doesn't matter. What matters is that the characters' internal and external struggles gave context and meaning to the giant cool robot battles and made them even cooler.
>Would also like to hear your defense of pic related.
The quality of Rosamia's character does not impact the overall quality of Zeta. Nonetheless I shall accept this challenge.
While Rosamia is not the most compelling, interesting or amazing part of Zeta, she is not particularly detrimental to it either. (3/?)
