Why is mecha straight up dead in the West? I’ve met people who just absolutely can’t stand giant robots. This seems to be the norm. Mecha just seems to be a huge turn off for most English speaking places. Fuck, there’s barely any mecha video games anymore either.

Is there some way to check what anime before 2000 or basically anything cel animated had an HD release? I've seen practically all the mainstream stuff from this era and lots of the more obscure things as well. So it's getting harder and harder to find.

Just watched Gundam Narrative. Movie was better than I expected. Lots of actions, pretty decent story. Pretty decent characters. Overall pretty good self contained story that leaves room for the sequel we all know is coming.
I really didn't mind all the space magic that happened in this film maybe because they explain a lot of all the newtype stuff that happens. I'm not even sure if that was a good thing. You probably didnt even need to watch previous gundam series to understand all the newtype and pyschoframe stuff. They even explain some plot points left over from Unicorn.

So I was reading the the second novel of Sidonia and I noticed that one of the seed ships was named Aposimz. Did Nihei intend to say that the two series take place in the same universe?
