I just finished the OG LOGH series and it's great stuff. However, I'm not sure why the two nations need to cross over the Iserlohn and Phezzan Corridors, and I don't think it was explained clearly. There was a scene where an imperial ship hit the "roof" of the Iserlohn corridor and exploded, but why? High dose of cosmic radiation?

According to this map, the nations are situated in one of the galaxy's spiral arms and the gap between the arms are hazardous?

I started watching gundam for the first time and decided for whatever reason that the stated chronological order would be for the best.

I was absolutely blown away by 0079. The characters act fairly realistically. The dialog is fine even in the dub. It feels like every military mecha anime that came after has been trying to attain this level of writing quality and failing.

But then I got to "October" in the timeline... and switched over to 8th MS Team... and it just sucks in comparison. Its got a good tactical feel but the characters arent compelling. I feel like some of them should have been shot.
