>Lesson ZeroNot bad in the moment but it set a different tone for the show that favored hyper cartoony antics over the grounded characterization of season 1. It also has the contrivance of the mane 6 writing to Celestia only for the meta reason of allowing episodes to focus away from Twilight.
>Luna Eclipsed Retcons the original Luna without any explanation and turns her into an over the top meme character. It also clashes with s1e1 where the ponies are now celebrating a holiday about Nightmare Moon when the first episode was about Twilight being the only one in Ponyville to recall the legend.
>Mare Do WellThe world conforms to the whims of the writing, ignoring the rich depiction of Ponyville in favor of dumb disaster antics and even an electric dam.
>Secret of my ExcessSpike grows gigantic with an absolutely idiotic lore reason.
>Baby CakesA second babysitting episode with screeching, shitting babies instead of an adventure to find a monster in a forest.
>PYHDOver the top depiction of Fluttershy confused fans and writers alike on how to move forward with her character. She never has the charm of her season 1 depiction ever again.
>Dragon QuestTakes an exciting idea for Spike and turns it into generic garbage that permanently defines the dragon as obnoxious stereotypes for the rest of the series.
>General AnimationThe cute depiction of ponies started to falter in season 2. The animation had more and more human poses and the combination of over the top gag scenes and some new common expressions made everything less appealing to look at. I remember being noticeably turned off by Lesson Zero's costume design and Hurricane Fluttershy's workout scenes despite them being good episodes overall.
