>insufferable when crying/ mean to rescuerTrue. In this situation, she's insufferable because she's wrong and obviously wrong. That's generally good, as we shouldn't encourage the audience to agree with wrong characters. It's also not unusual in media. For this to be bad, you would have to claim that it is bad to have characters be wrong but think they are right, which seems somewhat absurd. Are you going that far?
>acts like she got put in her placeJust like last time, her massive pride has been destroyed. She literally got put in her place, by a fucking tortoise no less. Even with that, she manages to frame her choice to choose the tortoise over the eagle as a fair extension of her prior words, refusing to admit she was wrong. She's being performatively "begrudging".
>everyone talks in this brainwashed wayThere's plenty of character in these lines. Only pinky sounds like a real retard, and that's not strange for her. You know what, for the sake of argument I'll say that every line here is fine so you can tear into me as a correction. Have at ye.
>the main characters act like some kind of psycho bitchesThey've been that way since day 1. As much as behavior did change over time, the good episodes ALSO have them act like childish psych patients of some kind or another. Case and point, I'm fairly sure people liked "may the best pet win" and "maredowell" is good fun most of the way through. People went fucking bananas for rainbow showing her vulnerable side, even if the end is super fucked up if you think about it for 5 seconds. If anything, that's the difference.
The big boy example of the m6 being asshats is boast busters, but they still manage to be asshats in an enjoyable to watch way and the fact they are in the wrong simply isn't thrown in your face. We are accepting they are asshats in order to create the plot, which is about twilight and trixie dealing with this asshattery in different ways. Twilight hides her power and trixie doubles down. Even with this spycopothy, the episode was good and the conflict was dynamic.
Meanwhile, starlight being an asshat is her selling your house and not being sorry, much worse and more autistic than mere heckling, and the episode lingers on the pain this caused in the form of minute long bauling and minutes long anger.
Season 1 asshattery response: "I developed a complex that caused me to pretend I suck and fear the jealousy of others and then I worked out that personal issue."
Season 8 or something asshattery response: "I AM VERY SAD AND I AM TELLING YOU I AM SAD AND THEN I AM MAD AND WILL SAY THAT AND I WILL CRY ABOUT IT AAAAAAAAA"
One is pain porn and abuse apologia and the other is commentary on social interaction where we spend time watching twilight try her best for people
