sup /v/ I want to know that name of an old game I used to play. It was a space fighting simulation. You had different types of spaceships, small agile fighter, bigger destroyers, Large carrier(?) type things. There were different modes, one was to destroy the enemies. Another mode was to protect your giant mothership etc. The game was turn based, and you just indicated the direction and speed of your ships and pressed a button. I dont remember much about the combat, but everything was turn based. It was pretty old, 2d top down graphics. pic related, what the game kinda looked like(very innacurate but you get the general idea)

I was never able to fully complete either back in the day when I was kid, and sort of made it my mission when I was an adult to some day pull it off. I took a week's worth of nights after work, to make my way through both games, and was satisfied to have pulled it off finally after so many years. Abe's first outing is really hard to find all the bonus areas since you have to sometimes throw yourself into what is likely to be an awaiting death, where is with the second game, looking for some SoulStorm Brew bottles hidden in the area would give you a hint you had a secret waiting to be discovered.

ebay has some useful search tools if you can be arsed to use them.

>>1535654 Yeah, it's a bit hard to find because most are just adapters. But find one without the micro and 2GB.
I also suggest getting a mini. I got the micro and a mini adapter but I had issues where the card couldn't be read by the EZFIV.

Do you remember when as a kid you saw something groundbreaking in a game that made you really amazed, and which today is a norm (or still isn't) in games? Share your experiences and titles here.>Duke Nukem 3D interactions with your environment, e.g. playing snooker, singing karaoke and of course "shake it baby" - truly a predecessor to San Andreas mini games variety>Red Faction being able to destory walls - as a kid I was sure it would be a norm in the next years of gaming. window glass that broke like in real life - that was something that really brought some semi-realism into a game>Max Payne the grand bullet time. I remember exactly how amazing it was, it's really difficult to explain. a simple thing that was copied from Matrix, which gave a lot of joy and satisfaction

Aside from getting an original PC Engine console and CD attachment (very rare and expensive), is this the best version of the console for CD games?
Anonymous

I have a PC Engine Duo that I need to do some work on. HuCards work fine, but the CD laser won't read discs. The spindle works and the laser adjusts but it just doesn't read discs. Seems like it's possible that it may be a capacitor problem, so I think I'll recap this thing since that's just a good idea to begin with anyway. Laser replacements and parts to to do an RGB mod aren't that expensive, so I think I'll by those parts as well.

Lately I have been wanting one of these things. I have never been seen a tg16 in person, let alone a pce/duo. I've been browsing a little on eBay and cannot justify the pricing AT ALL. Duos for $300 and up is just nuts. I thought pce outsold Famicom and master system but even core units are over $100 without any games.

my pc engine duo was overhauled before I bought it. I actually got it for a decent price considering it had all the caps replaced I paid the same you would for one that had no work done on it.

What could I use to debug NES, SNES and Mega Drive (Genesis) games? I'd like to try my hand at creating my own cheats, and so I need something that would allow me to dump RAM, set breakpoints and tweak program code in assembly, stuff like that. Preferably in an emulator environment.

>>1656003 Babby's first debugging can be done in any emulator with action replay/gameshark features. Look up how to isolate variable addresses and try to do something simple like giving infinite HP and so on.
Gens does it well enough for the mega drive.

You wouldn't really need to dump RAM, just scan it every once in a while for specific changes. As for "tweak program code in assembly", you make me believe you have no idea what the hell you are talking about, and are just throwing technical sounding words together. You either edit a value on the ROM or change/freeze a value in RAM, cheats do not involve changing assembly code.

General question about MAME netplay, if both parties have strong enough connections is that enough to avoid desynch irrespective of distance? I live in the middle of nowhere but I have a monstrous connection, I'm hoping that I can play with America\Japan without dropping every other match like I recall happening back in the day.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>1507721 Despite you and your peers high connection, desyncs can still happen. Though the chances of it might be lowered. It can also depend on you and your peers location.
