I grew up on Nintendo and seriously missed out on computer rpgs. What are some decent ones that you think an rpg fan should have tried? What are sme lesser known ones that you really like? Complex character customization, decent paper dolls and an interesting setting are a big plus.

I dig the ones I posted and played them a fuckload. they are not bad by any means. I'm not taking anybody seriously who lists Gothic 1 and 2 out of all things to be better than any of these.

>>1632275 I've been playing pen and paper rpgs for 15 years now and I can objectively say that DnD is a badly designed system that clings to outdated, clunky mechanics and clutters itself with pathetic attempts to fix problems with these mechanics instead of just replacing them which results in it being severely convoluted.
It's supposed to be baby's first rpg, but is actually way too complex for what it is and needlessly so.
You can stomp your foot all day, but that doesn't make DnD not terrible.

Just found an N64 with 3 controllers, 30 games, and an N64 branded carry case in a skip. Worth anything on ebay?
Anonymous

If you sell it on eBay you could easily sell it for over $100, $150 if you say all the games are rare.

Hey /vr/! Next month I'll start playing video games with a good college friend at my place. We basically want to play some RPGs together and other fun games (no homo). I'm thiking of Vay to start with a hard rpg (based WD), Ninja Gaiden for a fun one player sidescroller, and Goemon's Great Adventures (name might be wrong, it's the second n64 game) for co-op sidescroller. Do you guys have ideas on good games we might want to play? (I have a psx, saturn, 64, dreamcast, nes, super nes, megadrive, pc-engine -hu card + cd-, sega cd, msx, neo geo CD, and getting games isn't much of a problem) My friend's not overly hardcore, but he's an enthusiast and knows his shit, so I was thinking of following those by some Xenogears (since it's been 12+years since I played it), Front Mission, or Mana games.

Did this game force you to reset your console? I really feel like it did or is my brain just playing tricks on me?

>>1694410 I think you could actually pick your character in the intro level if you were holding a specific direction on loadup. I'm sure it's on gamefaqs somewhere.
Anonymous

>>1694410 >>1694443 Yeah, it's just an intro. After completing it you get the character select screen.
You also have to eventually play through that intro level again but this time as the character you chose.

Getting magneto in this game was great except the level after you get him is designed for night crawler and you'll probably die right away and lose your last remaining life. Never got farther than than the savage land when the water ruses avid you have to do some insane platforming

This game was very difficult to me, so it was easy to watch this scene. I wonder if there's a game with scarier scenes than this...

Hearing this music randomly fade in while searching for clues and tools always sent me into a panic. Even now I can remember turning off the Playstation and walking out of the room when I'd get too freaked and/or stressed out.

The boss fights in Battle of Olympus get me, mainly for the music, you hear it well before you usually see the bosses, and the bosses tended to thrash the fuck outta you until you figured out the order you had to fight them in, and hearing just a little bit of this again sent chills through me, so goddamn fuck that.

Hello /vr/. Recently I was helping my mom sort through our storage shed a few days ago and I found my old super ninteno and games I had from when I was a kid. I ended up taking it home because mom wanted to throw it out and I was feeling nostalgic. So I've been playing my snes for the past few days and I've been enjoying it a lot. The only problem is I didn't have many games growing up so my collection is small. What are some good games to buy for the SNES? I know the staple games like the first party games are good to buy like the mario, zelda, metroid and donkey kong games. But what are some other great games to play that I probably missed during my childhood? Here's a list of games I have.>Earth worm Jim 1&2 >Donkey Kong country >Zombies ate my neighbors >Street fighter 2 >Mortal kombat >Super Mario world >Super Mario cart On a side note, is the snes everdrive worth the money? Any help would be appreciated.

I own one of these things and plenty of controllers. My question to you guys is what are some fun SNES games that support more than 2 players besides Bomberman and Secret of Mana?

Sup /vr/tua fighters, is this a good controller for my PC? I've always been a bit iffy about after market shit like this but it seems everywhere I go this is always being recommended.

>>1705480 It works fine for me, though I have no comparison with a real SNES controller. Maybe the select / start buttons are a bit wobbly, but you never need to abuse them too much.
If you do decide to buy it, be wary of the source, there are apparently plenty of chinese copies flowing around.
