In this thread, we talk about /vr/-related book. I'll start with this one: Utatakiyoshi was a concept artist who worked on quite a few cult games throughout the late 80s and early 90s, which includes Metal Storm, Little Samson, Osman and Cocoron.

This book contains concept art for all those games and four others. Here's the official site for the book with some sample pages.

I recently picked one of these up since I heard from multiple places that it was the best thing after an actual SFC controller with a converter.

Has anyone had any issues with getting bad one? One of my buttons went dead after less than 20 mins of playtime and a number of buttons just flat out fail the SFC controller test ROM.

Are there any known issues with fkes? Mine came from Amazon sold by COOL JAPAN 4U.

Going to send it back and hope I just got a dud, since it's flat busted.

It does say "made in china" on the back, but who knows. Do the originals say that as well?

Mine arrived about a week ago and I hadn't even considered the possibility of it being a knockoff.

if you had enough sense to check the buffalo site, youd know that they legit use the ibuffalo branding; it says it right there, on the site, clear as day, on the retro SFC gamepad page to boot.

i dont know how youd differentiate a fake other than the serials a previous anon mentioned and making sure you buy from a seller that isnt located in china and preferably in japan.

So there's me and ">>1755350" who have the same serial number. Mine is a SNES controller by the way.
Seems to work good, buttons are a tiny bit loose (shake it and they rattle) and the D-pad could be better in my imagination (don't have a Nintendo one to compare) but is serviceable.

My friend, my brother and myself all started collecting PS1 and PS2 games recently because a rental store sold out and we got a lot of them on the cheap, and we can also find them around all over the place. We sell what we don't want to a store in the mall that sells used and new games from NES all the way to new releases, and a lot of the sales are pretty reasonable. Then we use that store credit to buy games we do want.

We have several large stacks of PS1/PS2 in the corner right now. I think we've got easily 40ish or so right now, and we had to have gotten them for basically free if we account for all the money we've gotten from selling the games.

It helped we ran across some .Hack games that sold as a pair for over a hundred dollars on ebay.

Just go to garage sales and look around. People are dumping PS2 games like mad, so you can pick up absolute gold for damn near a quarter or two a piece.

Really old shit is also a good idea. My 2600 collection is around 80 to 90 games now, and all of them were 50 cents to 8 dollars each, which is loads cheaper than NES/SNES/N64. Then there's 5200, 7800, Colecovision, Intellivision...

I guess it really depends on your style of game. I would argue that a lot of the Atari-era games are... less in depth, or engaging, maybe thats wrong.

Less long? They're usually less robust games and generally just quick arcadey experiences, which isn't a bad thing, but if you're into collecting SNES and N64 era stuff, the newer games are more your cup of tea I'd argue.

Although Atari has always been dirt cheap. I remember my dad had one, its probably in the attic of my parents house, I'll go ask him at some point.

I figure they would just enslave/mutate a whole bunch of them for easy cannon fodder and psychological warfare, you'd still have the actual demons doing legwork.
