Dark Law: Meaning of Death as a 1997 SNES game. It was only released on Japan, but a fan translation was released five or six years ago.
The game has small story scenarios that lead to the final boss. Between those, you can tackle an optional underground dungeon anytime. The best ending of the game has as a condition defeating a secret boss, Daruk Golem, that you're supposed to find at the end of the optional dungeon..
The thing is, nobody knows what triggers the Daruk Golem battle. It's not like a translation patch bug locks it out, as there's a video of the boss fight in the English version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy4wj7ejHAQ).
I've googled this casually since I first played the game on 2008 or so. Nobody has found an answer. Hell, it seems not many people even ask why the fight seems to be random. I've also tried searching for info on Japanese, but I couldn't find a single discussion about it.
So TL;DR, does anybody know what triggers the optoinal boss on Dark Law? I know it's an obscure game that nobody cares about, but maybe someone on /vr/ has the answer?
