can /his/ explain why this project is so controversial? It elicits such vitriol from certain types here, I really just can't grasp how they are perpetually offended by a few ancient blonde statues; this god or that god who cares !?!?!

>Statue of Artemis, the so-called Winckelmann Artemis, 1st c. BC–1st c. AD

Pompeii, July 19, 1760: a marble statue of the goddess Artemis is unearthed. According to the excavation report, the original polychromy is still clearly visible. The volcanic ash that buried Pompeii due to the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 CE had preserved the pigments.

In keeping with the title of the thread we are only concerned with history as can be discerned from the Bible. The Hebrew and Christian Bibles, tells you that Egypt was the land of Ham.

Ham was part of the family of eight who survived the great flood. Descendants of Ham populated Africa and parts of Asia. The word Ham is believed to come from the word "Khawm" which means “black, hot, burnt or blackened” in Hebrew. Egypt is recognized as the "land of Ham" in the Bible. (Psalms 78:51; 105:23; 106:22; 1 Chronicles 4:40) Ham had four sons. They make up the Afro-Asiatic family. The Bible stated that Ham and his sons, and their soon-to-be descendants lived and became the forefathers of the modern African continent.
