Yesterday at the Lecce-Galatina Air Base (61° Stormo) was held the ceremony of Phase Out for the MB-339A after more than 40 years of service. Its place will be taken by the T-345A (basically a modernized S-211)
The upgraded FT-339C/MB-339CD will continue to fly until 2030, when it also will be replaced by the T-345A.
I'll post some more photos and pieces of the article.

It appears to have been made in 1968, possibly by members of NATO. I tried searching the NSN depot records and found references to the code "6510," but couldn’t locate any exact matches for the full serial numbers.
I’ve also been trying to decipher the meaning of "ASM 68 SVF" but haven’t had much success—ChatGPT hasn’t been able to provide much help either.
The instructions are written in three different languages. The item was stored inside an olive-green canvas bag, sewn with black thread. Inside this bag is another layer that seems almost insulated, made of a plastic-like material that I suspect is waterproof.
If anyone got more info, is more knowledgable let me know, otherwise, lets just enjoy this old piece of equipment.
It's crazy to think this was made the same year my dad was born.
