>>36857840>because it's a good ideaThat's where we'll disagree. If gun laws in Canada are as fine as you said they were, they do not need to be stricter. Legal gun owners in Canada seldom commit crime and are less likely to do so than the average populace.
So essentially, gun control does not end and will get perpetually stricter. All the more reason to reject it for those who value their tights anf liberties. You have shown me the light, I thank you.
>because guns pose a public safety threatSo do many other things. Alcohol for example kills a shitton of more people through crime, accidents, disease, suicides, etc. A $50 tax on alcohol beverages would prevent a lot of deaths, but people value their freedom to drink over those deaths. I can think of more societal benefits for guns such as hunting and self defense, whilst I cannot for alcohol other than having fun.
As I have stated before hand, the vast majority of gun crime in Europe is not committed by legal owners and instead with illegal guns smuggled from outside the EU such as the Middle East or Eastern Europe. The legislation serves nothing but as an even greater infringement on the rights of legal owners.
>because half of illegal guns in canada come from canadaSource? 70% of illegal guns in Toronto are from the US:
