>>61564117i havent even watched the movie yet, my heart is not ready for season 3...! i know, my family also had troubles letting go of the traditional dishes we had served for generations on christmas, but now we do something different every time. in the end we settled for a potluck type of dinner, everyone brings a little of something, i usually do the salads. unfortunately there is no use in trying to recreate old favorites with slightly better ingredients, but its fun to come up with ways to find a replacement. like this year we used finely sliced carrots seasoned with liquid smoke to replace the traditional smoked salmon, and a parsnip dijon mustard salad to replace the coleslaw. for sweets we use date paste, tigernut, chestnuts and many more alternatives to sugar. there is a cookbook by the same guy who wrote the book i gave you to read, maybe have look at it for some inspirations. theres a whole new world to explore outside of what is offered in the usual venues! you know what they say, there is sunshine after rain, 2021 is the year we will apply the lessons we have learned.
