There is no real way to revive /cgl/ at this point- primarily for this
>>10951230 reason, and tied into that is the lack of people who exclusively obsess over cosplay and conventions.
The vast majority of anons now just go to one or two conventions a year and typically ones in their area. I get it, it's a burden (especially when you go to events like anything in Cali or NY where tickets alone can be over $100 for even a weekend pass), but that's why a dedicated board for the topic is dying.
The bigger issue is just that conventions have their own discords where people discuss stuff already, so there's no real point to going over to /cgl/ unless you want to know the specifics of where certain hidden events are (and even then, /cgl/ is getting more and more 'out of the loop').
The biggest use case for /cgl/ is foreign language events where people will want to meet up in groups, but that only really applies to Otakon, no other foreign language convention has the same appeal.
At this point, /cgl/ may as well not exist. It caters to just the following things
>newfags who don't think to join a convention discord and will come here to ask benign questions>newfags wanting to know if they can get laid at a convention >oldfags coming here out of habit
