>>23027573This is a fundamental misunderstanding and simplification of Char and Katejina. Katejina is not the female Char. Reccoa is the female Char.
While in CCA Char did harbor a hatred towards Amuro and he was like the people he hated in a certain sense, Char genuinely did believe in the Axis drop plan. The movie goes out of it's way to establish that Char is correct when he's talking about how bad the Fed are. The entire plan up succeeeds up until LB get involved BECAUSE Char was able to bribe the feds. You could say that it was his own ego which prevented him from achieving his goal but it has been shown numerous times that Char is more than willing to throw away his ego for the "greater good". See him siding with Kcyilia as he believed that Zeon winning the war would help newtypes. Then see him later killing her instead of Amuro because he needed to stop the "true" enemy. Also see him throw away the Quattro name as a means to garner support from Neo-Zeon and the rest of the spacenoids. The true reason why he gave Amuro the upgrades (in my opinion) is as a backup just in case his plan was truly wrong.
Katejina is a spoiled rich girl who sees the events in victory as a story where she becomes the main character. She doesn't have any strong convictions nor justified greavences. She "joins" with the league because it was the most convenient thing for her to do, not because she despises the Zans. While with the league, she does the bare minimum to help (even handing off caretaking duties to Shakti) becauseshe thinks she's above it. She gets kidnapped by Chronicle and then decides to stick with him because he gives her the special treatment a "main character" like her deserves. Her arrogant, bratty nature even pisses of everyone working around her. She goes from liking Uso to despising him due to him getting all the attention to liking him again because his existence fed into her ego. Katejina never willingly sacrifices her ego to achieve her goals.
