OP here again. I've been trying to find a way to contact Yapool, so far with no luck. In the meantime, I've updated the list with a lot more stuff. I tried to include as many video game mecha types as I could.

I'm particularly wanting to see how many more stories use "Titan" for "giant robot" -- I know the term in used in Warhammer 40,000 & Titanfall & Transformers & Battlefield 2142, but I'm sure there must be many more.

neither yugioh or kamen rider have any real mecha focus to it, but they have generals here? wouldn't something like /a/ and /jp/ make more sense respectively?

The problem I have is that it ruined the board culture and now it's a pretty shitty place to hangout compared to the early days. It could have been avoided by people lurking more, too many tourist/zoomer/newfags changed the board culture to suit themselves and now we struggle to have a decent discussion or fun thread. Personally I didn't wait till I was 18, I was on here mid-highschool, /m/ used to have the reputation as the "friendly board on 4chan", we longer have that reputation. It's a pity you didn't get to use the board during it's better days.

IIRC many many many years ago (like 20 years ago?) Kamen Rider and Toku were originally on those boards.

But /a/ hated Toku for not being animated. And the Toku Generals were too slow for /a/ and often pushed off the board by new threads.

/jp/ was embarrassed Toku and kicked them off their board.

Even tried /tv/ for a while but /tv/ was way too fast for Toku Generals and everyone loved to poke. Fun at Toku.

There wasn't any place left so the admins put Toku on /m/. The /m/ fans protested and said Toku wasn't really /m/ related and stuff like "guys in spandex arent mecha".

But the admins said "too bad there's no where else to put them. So they stay on /m/."

So while logically there are other boards that Toku better fits, the Toku Generals are basically refugees. They got kicked off those boards. And came to /m/.

I honestly don't mind gbitch being in the new SRW, my main problem with the show was the shitty writing and the ugly character designs and there's a good chance of it being properly written in the game. Calling SRW "woke" because of a new Gundam show making it in seems retarded, on par with claiming the franchise is dead because of Rayearth.
