If Russia were to arm American rebels, what kinds of weapons should be on our wish list?

Thinking about buying a scout rifle but want opinions
Is the idea really relevant? Would the AR-15 not be more applicable as a universal weapon? Would you actually take a scout rifle over your AR innawoods?
What are the pros and cons of a forward mounted scope?
Is it worth considering anything other than the Steyr and Ruger Gunsite? I know Savage and Mossberg have scout rifles

Are so-called "scout rifles" (not strictly adhering to Cooper's guidelines) appreciated on this board? Would /k/ enjoy owning such a rifle as pic related?

I've always thought these were mostly just a western psyop or some shit, that it was some brave/schizo idiots and Ukrainian immigrants.
